60 Minutes segment on Guiding Light that aired on Sunday, September 13th, 2009. A wonderfully hosted story by Morley Shaffer about the cast and crew of Guiding Light as they say farewell to Springfield and each other.

Segment 1 features clips from Jeffrey's memorial and the Bauer BBQ. There's also Reva's confrontation with her clone Dolly. Reva driving off the bridge. Kim Zimmer ( Reva ) and Robert Newman ( Josh ) talk about Josh and Reva's love story that went on for over 25 years. Also featured are Peter Simon ( Ed Bauer ) and Michael O'Leary ( Rick Bauer ), the father and son doctor team that are the last remaining Bauers in Springfield. There is also a conversation with Tina Sloan ( Lillian Raines ), Ron Raines ( Alan Spaulding ), Beth Chamberlian ( Beth Raines) and Grant Aleksander ( Phillip Spaulding).



This segment features the history of Guiding Light ( including the 70th anniversary episode. I have this in my collection ), Bauer BBQ, past stars. There's are interviews with Frank Dicopolous ( Frank Cooper ), Executive Producer Ellen Wheeler and Head Writer Jill Lorie Hurst.

Tidbits : Cyrus fans watch closely around 5 minutes. The scene with Mel and Cyrus that appeared on 08/21/09 with the birthday cookies appears to have been originally filmed outside Towers. The mini mart is actually the basement at CBS transformed.
