Dayna's In-Depth Recap: Episode 15575, December 19, 2008

Too Much To Live For

Previously - Rafe telling Natalia to buy the farmhouse. Natalia telling Olivia that she could buy the farmhouse if she had a long term renter. The rent would include full time care. Olivia realizes that Natalia is talking about her. Olivia is surprised by the news. Natalia signing the papers.

At the farmhouse, Olivia and Natalia are moving into the house.

Emma walks in and says she found a horseshoe in the barn. Natalia says that is good luck. Olivia tells Emma to wash her fingers because the barn is disgusting. Natalia tells Olivia to relax. She tells Emma that she can put the horseshoe in her room. Emma rushes upstairs. Natalia tells Olivia to relax. This is her first real home. She's going to enjoy it. It's a good deal for them. Olivia knows. Natalia says that the place is charming. It's all perfect for them. It's her own little Christmas miracle. Just then Natalia pulls out a cross and Olivia is not impressed but tries to cover. Natalia is questioning where to hang it. She thinks about over the fireplace.

Olivia is not sure. She questions why it has to be so out in the open. Natalia says it's a part of her. She's had it since she was little. Olivia rolls her eyes. Natalia sees it and questions about the hanging. Olivia agrees she has a problem with the cross.


Remy is surprised that Ava is there.

Ava says she's much better now. Remy says he should clean up since Shayne is such a mess. Ava says she should have called. Remy says it's fine. It's just they haven't seen each other in a long time. What changed for her? She didn't want to see him last time. She changed. Ava looks and sees that Remy still has a picture of them.

Christina is working at the Gym with Reva.

Reva is all pumped up. Christina says that Reva did good. Reva says she's doing it all for both of her babies. Christina questions if Reva is having twins. Reva says no. The little guy she is carrying and her other son who is in a wheelchair who is finally home.

Shayne calls out to Jeffrey outside the courthouse. Shayne questions if he should have called first. Jeffrey says no. Shayne is family now. Jeffrey says it's good to have Shayne back. How is Shayne? He's fine the wheelchair is nothing.

Jeffrey says that Shayne was doing a very important job. Jeffrey understands that. Shayne knows he questions what Jeffrey thinks about being back in DC. Shayne stops beating around the bush and tells Jeffrey he needs a favour. Shayne wants to get back to what he is good at. He wants to get the heck out of Springfield and back to blowing up stuff.

Olivia and Natalia face off at the farmhouse about the cross. Natalia says it's gone everywhere with her. Olivia doesn't like that it's so out in public. Natalia says this is her house so she should be able to decide where she's going to hang stuff. Just then Natalia pulls out a hideous piece of artwork. Olivia says it's modern art. It will spruce up the farmhouse. Natalia says it's hideous. She wants to hide the cross but keep out this hideous piece of art. That is not happening. Olivia can hang the modern art in her room.

Remy is confused.
Ava said she didn't want to see him. Ava says it was too much at the time. It hurt too much to see him. He reminded her of Max. Remy says he understands that. Remy can take Ava to the cemetery. Ava says that is the first place she went when she came to town. It was cold on the ground of their son's grave. Remy says it took a lot of courage for her to go there. Ava says it took a lot of courage to come and see Remy as well. She tells him about the job offer in San Francisco. It's a really good chance. It would be a new start. Ava was kind of hoping that Remy might want to come along with her to scope it out. Remy is stunned by the news.


Reva and Christina work on stretches at the gym. Reva says that Christina is working really hard. She hopes that Christina has a love life as well. Maybe a special guy? Christina does. Reva says that Christina should snap her up before someone snags him. Christina says that she really doesn't have a social life with this job. She did save up for a Christmas gift for him. It's why she's been taking on so many extra jobs. It's to thank Remy. Remy? Remy helped her with the MCATs. Reva says that Remy is going to love all of it. Christina says that it's nothing.

Shayne and Jeffrey continue to talk now in the park.

Jeffrey says that Shayne can't go. He has to stay in Springfield for Reva's sake. She needs her son at Christmas. He has to say for her. Shayne says that this is Jeffrey and Reva's first Christmas as a couple together. They don't need Shayne underfoot. Reva would be happy to putter around Shayne for the holidays. Shayne says he'll just be in the way. Shayne wants to go back to the action. Jeffrey tells Shayne to just wait a couple of weeks then he can leave. He can wish his mother a then leave. Shayne says he needs to get back to the action. Jeffrey questions what Shayne can do now while being in the wheelchair. Shayne says he won't always be in the wheelchair. He can't stay in Springfield anymore. He's just the guy that everyone pities and it's driving Shayne up the wall. Shayne needs to leave. Jeffrey says no. Shayne questions if it is because of the pregnancy. Is it a high risk pregnancy? No it's because of Reva's cancer.

At the farmhouse, Olivia and Natalia continue to unpack. Natalia pulls out a Christmas crèche. Olivia questions if this is going to be some shrine. Natalia bristles and says that this is a Christmas ornament so it stays out. They can even get a tree this year and decorate it. Frank and Buzz can help them bring it over. Olivia suggests sprucing up the barn and having a big shindig. They can invite everyone and have it catered. Natalia was thinking more a small get together with egg nog and cookies. What exactly does Olivia think of Christmas? It's when she has to pay her employees time and a half. Natalia says it's the day that a baby was born in a manger. Natalia says that it's something to believe in. It's something that Olivia is going to have to learn about. Emma comes downstairs. Olivia asks if Emma wants to get all dressed up and have a huge party. Natalia watches. Emma says fine but there better be really big cookies there.


Remy tries to wrap around his head what Ava wants from him. She wants him to move out with her and scrap everything. Ava says it would be time together. They can find out if they really have something good together. Remy says he can't do that right now. He needs time to think. Ava thinks that this is a brush off and starts to leave. Remy tells her to stop. Ava says she blew it coming back here. How could she think that Remy had not moved on with his life? Remy says that it's work. He took the MCATs and made it. Ava is so happy for Dr. Remy. Just then the phone rings.

It's Remy's wife Christina. Remy says hi.

Christina questions what is wrong. Remy says he's just busy. Christina says she was kind of hoping they could delay the divorce until after Christmas. She starts to tell him about the requirements for the scholarship but soon realizes that Remy is not listening. Remy is looking over at Ava. Christina questions if Remy is even listening to her. Remy says that he will call her back later. She can come over. Remy says no. He'll meet her at the gym in a bit. Ava questions who the girl is? Remy lies and says it's just a close friend.

Shayne looks at Jeffrey in the park. Why didn't Reva tell him about the cancer when he came back? Reva thought he had been through enough. She didn't want to tell him that she had cancer again while being pregnant. She's taking chemo for the cancer. Shayne questions how they can treat Reva's cancer while she is pregnant. Jeffrey says a modern miracle. The chemo doesn't hurt the baby for some reason. Reva is still worried about the baby. She's worried she won't be there to raise the baby. Shayne agrees that his mother must be terrified. Why should Shayne stay though? He'd be one less worry for her then. Jeffrey tells Shayne fine if he wants to leave then go but don't ask Jeffrey for any help. Jeffrey is not helping Shayne break his mother's heart when Reva needs her son. Reva comes up and says she finally found her two favourite guys. She looks at Shayne and realizes that Jeffrey told him about the cancer.


Reva walks over to Shayne and Jeffrey.

Jeffrey says he can head to the office. Shayne asks Reva why she did not tell him? Shayne questions if Reva learned from the last time when she told nobody. Reva say she was going to tell him but she didn't expect him to come home in a wheelchair. She wasn't sure what mattered. Shayne says the wheelchair is not important. It doesn't mattter if he walks or not. All that matters is Reva and his baby brother. Reva bends down and looks at her son. Shayne asks for a moment with his mother. Jeffrey leaves. Reva says it's not exactly what she wanted to tell Shayne when he came home. and oh by the way I have cancer again. Shayne is sorry for his mother. Reva says there has been a lot of surprises. She says they both kept secrets this time. Reva is so glad that her son is home. Shayne and Reva hug.


Shayne questions if Reva is sure that the chemo will not harm the baby? Reva says hell or high water even if she dies she's going to give birth to this baby boy. Shayne tells Reva not to joke about death. Reva say she's sorry. Shayne has to tell Reva though he's worried about his little brother. When Reva was pregnant last time....Reva knows the postpartum depression. Reva left Shayne and was very sick. Reva is going to fight the cancer and post partum depression tooth and nail. Reva has too much to live for. Shayne says it's funny how life can turn out in an instant. He stepped on a landmine and was blown off his feet. Reva says just like cancer cells invading her bloodstream again. Shayne says that stinks. Reva agrees. Reva and Shayne laugh. Reva starts to push Shayne's wheelchair. Shayne questions what she is doing. Reva wants to talk a walk with her boys.

Remy is glad that Ava is there. Ava laughs and says that his roommate is a slob. Ava says that someday he's going to look back on his life and think of what might have been if he turns down the trip. Remy says he just needs time to think. Remy says that he really put himself out there on the line for Ava last time. She shut him down. He's not sure. Ava looks at him and leaves.


At the farmhouse, Natalia says she likes to bake cookies. She and Emma can bake gingerbread cookies. Olivia says she can call and order a huge box of cookies. Natalia says it's not the same. When you bake cookies, the smell permeates in the house. Olivia questions why Natalia would want to take the time? It's fun to do. Olivia and Natalia continue to argue when Emma comes in. Emma questions if they are fighting. Natalia says they are just discussing. Olivia agrees just creatively discussing ideas on how to decorate the house. Just then there is knock at the door. Natalia says that this is their first guest. It's Christina.

She's going to be Olivia's personal trainer while she recovers. Olivia tries to beg off but Natalia says it's a good idea. It's part of the rent. Christina questions if it is alright. Remy recommended her. Natalia and Emma are going to go out and get the ingredients for cookies. Olivia watches as they leave. Christina pulls out her equipment. One is a breathing tube that will help improve Olivia's lungs and chest. It will get better. Olivia stands behind the chair as Christina instructs her on what to do. Christina remarks that the farmhouse is beautiful. Olivia starts to blow but all she can see is the Christmas crèche looking at her.


Jeffrey meanwhile is in his office when he gets a surprise visitor.

It's Ava. Jeffrey hugs his daughter. Jeffrey says they can go get their coats and see Olivia. Ava just did. She wants to talk to her father now.

How is she doing? She's doing much better now. Ava tells Jeffrey about the job in San Francisco. Jeffrey says that it's a big step. She would be miles away from everyone that she knows. Ava knows that is why she's considering it. It would be a fresh start. Jeffrey says he likes seeing that smile on her face. He wasn't sure if he would ever see it again. Ava wasn't sure either but she had faith it would come back. She still misses Max. She was angry at everything but she's o.k. now. Jeffrey understands that since he's having a baby with Reva. Ava questions how that is going? Jeffrey says even with everything, it's going good. Jeffrey says he needs to borrow a little of that faith that everything is going to be fine. Jeffrey says he hopes Reva has faith as well.


Remy looks at two pictures in his room. One is of Ava - his past. The other is of Christina - his present and possible future. Remy leaves.


Christina tells Olivia to relax. Olivia says it's hard to. It's been a long time since she's done these exercises. Christina says she will help Olivia and just push her a little. Olivia says she feels like the decorations are watching her. It's creeping her out.


Natalia and Emma are shopping for groceries. They get eggs and oatmeal. Natalia agrees no raisins just chocolate chips. Emma tells Natalia the reason she wanted to give Olivia the horseshoe is to give her mom good luck. She wants Olivia to feel better.


Natalia says that Olivia is going to feel better even if she doesn't like it. Natalia is going to make sure of it. They are all going to keep an eye on Olivia together.

Christina and Olivia work on stretches still.

Olivia grumbles that Natalia is so difficult. It's just different. Christina says that different is not always bad. Sometimes a person can come into your life when you least expect it and turn out to be the best thing. They can turn up when you need them the most. Just the Olivia's phone rings. It's Ava. Olivia is beyond excited. She's back in Springfield? Ava already saw Jeffery who was thrilled. She's shocked about the Springfield job. Remy may even go. Christina isn't sure she heard that right. Olivia agrees that they have a lot to talk about. Olivia will see Ava soon. Olivia questions why Christina is pushing so hard.

Reva and Shayne are sitting outside.

Shayne is scared for his mother. Reva says she should be but she knows what to expect this time. It's sort of like a second marriage. Shayne is worried about his baby brother. Reva says she's going into battle again. She's sorry for the description. She's not comparing what she's doing with the work that Shayne has done. Shayne stared death in the face. He walked into a live mine field. Shayne says it's just a job. Reva is bringing a new life into the world. It's just a job. Reva says that it's more than that. It's big and heroic and brave no matter if Shayne likes it or not. Reva says she's starting to get cold. Reva says she must be getting all sentimental now. She wants to get out of there. Will he be o.k.? Shayne laughs. He is Reva Shayne's son right? She loves having her son home. Can she give him a ride somewhere? Shayne says he can do better than that with his wheels. Reva laughs. Reva says she has meatloaf and mashed potatoes at home.

He should stop by the house. Shayne says he'll try to. She shouldn't count on him so much. Reva says she will always count on her son. Reva leaves. Shayne looks around.


Christina tells Olivia that she can show up next week.

Olivia says perfect. She's got nothing happening right. Christina questions if there is a place to change out of her work clothes. Olivia says there is a bedroom upstairs. Christina leaves just as Emma, Natalia and Ava show up.


Olivia is so happy to see her daughter. Natalia says there is always a room for Ava when she wants it. Ava says thank you. Emma says she loves having her big sister around. Ava says she missed her little sister. Emma and Natalia decide to go so Ava and Olivia can chat. Ava is surprised by the arrangement. Olivia says it's a big blessing in theory living with Natalia. Christina is coming down the stairs just as Ava tells Olivia that she saw Remy.

Remy still loves her. Ava is certain of it. Remy reached out to her last time and she stopped him. Now it's time for Ava to do the same thing for him. Ava say she's excited with the work. She hopes that Remy will take the chance and go with her to see if they have more. Christina listens and rushes out. Ava questions who that was? Just the physical therapist. Olivia says she's just going to have to get used to the idea of Remy and Ava as a couple. Ava says she has a real chance there. Olivia and Ava hug.


Remy arrives at the Gym to find Christina.

How did her PT session go? It went good. Remy says he's sorry for shutting the phone off on her before. Christina asks what happened. Remy says that he had someone come by and surprise him. Remy agrees with Christina that it's good that they do the divorce after the holidays. Christina says that's perfect since she will not be there for Christmas. A best friend from high school called with personal problems, Christina agreed to go out and see her. Remy can be a swinging bachelor over Christmas then. Remy says right. Christina says she has to go home and pack. Christina hopes that Remy is happy. He deserves to be happy no matter what.

Remy questions about the scholarship. Christina says that is not important right now. She has to go. Remy questions what the heck just happened. Christina leaves and dumps the present for Remy in the garbage.

Reva and Jeffrey are outside.

What is he doing? Jeffrey says he wants the whole Christmas shebang this year. He wants lights, lawn ornaments, Christmas trees it all. Reva laughs and says her husband has become Mr. Holiday.

Jeffrey says he's not sure what happened but he walked down Main Street and bought all the lights from the hardware store. They should be hopeful. He wants to decorate the house within an inch of it's life. He wants it to be a beacon of light for the holidays. Reva questions where this holiday cheer came from. Jeffrey says they should be happy. Shayne is safe for now. They are expecting a new baby. Ava came home to see him. Reva asks how Jeffrey's daughter is doing. Ava is doing great. Jeffrey says they have so many blessings this year. They should have hope. Reva hopes Shayne will feel it then as well.


Shayne meanwhile is sitting in his car on the train tracks.

The train whistle is blaring in the distance. Shayne is all pumped up. Shayne looks down at the car keys. As the train gets closer, Shayne tosses the car keys out.

Thorny's Quick Take for Friday

I just have to say, what a great show today!

We have Olivia and Natalia moving in together - with comedic results. Yeah, they clash!

Shayne seeks out Jeffrey to ask him to pull some strings to get him back to his old haunts. Jeffrey breaks down and tells Shayne he has to stay in SF because Reva has cancer. Reva enters the scene and then Shayne blasts her for not telling him the truth. He asks for some time alone with his mother. A great scene as they dicuss the new baby and whether Reva will abandon the new baby as a result of post pardum depression - the way she did with Shayne. Yikes! Reva says she will fight the cancer and the PPD this time. They eventually hash things out, and have a very tender moment. She invites him to dinner because she made meat loaf and mashed potatoes - which she says in her best "Peter Brady - pork chops and apple sauce" voice. Sadly, he tells her not to count on his coming, but he would try. She tells him, "too late...I always count on you."

Ava and Remy come face to face. Awkward tension, as Ava wants him back, but Remy is aloof...especially when Christina calls him and says she wants to delay the divorce. She begins to tell him of her scholarship condition which states that she needs to be married, but she can tell that Remy is distracted. They hang up. Ava wants Remy to go away with her.

Ava then goes to see Jeffrey. They have a nice reunion. Ava calls Olivia.

Back at the farm house, Olivia's new physical therapist just happens to be ... Christina. While Christina is upstairs, Ava enters. She has a warm reunion with Liv and Natalia. Nat takes Emma out shopping. Liv and Ava discuss Remy and his feelings for Ava and visa versa, while a shocked Christina eavesdrops. She overhears about Ava and Remy's planned trip. This was actually a good, old fashioned soap opera moment.

Christina leaves and bumps into Remy. When he tries to talk, she politely tells him that she is going to spend the holidays with a friend out of town. She wishes him a happy holiday and she says that she hopes he's happy. It's a pretty genuine scene.

Jeffrey comes home and is jolly as old Saint Nick. He tells Reva that Ava is back in town...and they both count their blessings.


**Monday: Bill accuses Alan of being Lizzie's real kidnapper.

Dayna's In-Depth Recap: Episode 15574, December 18, 2008

Mr. Clean Comes To Springfield.

Previously - Lizzie passing out in Cyrus' arms. Dinah warning Bill not to tell anyone that he's can't remember anything. Lizzie staying the night at Cedars.

At Cross Creek, Reva is walking around when there is a knock at the door.

Its Josh. Josh wants to know if Reva knows where Shayne is. Reva says no. Shayne is probably hiding with one of his friends. Josh tells Reva that Shayne has been on his own for a long time. Reva says that is true but he's in a wheelchair, getting into fights and a lot more stuff. She can't help but worry about her son. Reva says that Shayne is staying away because of her. Josh says it's not about Reva. Reva should have known that something was wrong with her son. Shayne should have wanted to come and see her. Reva says she realizes that she wasn't always there for Shayne while he was growing up. Josh says that Shayne understands that. Josh tells Reva that Shayne is probably more like her than both of them want to admit. Jeffrey walks in and sees Reva and Josh together. He caught the late train from Washington. Is there something wrong with their baby? Reva says it's not this baby but her other baby. Shayne is back in town.


At Remy's place, Shayne is hung over in Remy's easy chair.

Shayne wakes up and questions where he is. Remy says he put Shayne there last night. Remy asks about the drink in his hand. Remy says it's the perfect remedy for a hangover. Shayne fell asleep as soon as Remy put him in the chair. Shayne says sorry about the chair. Remy says it's nothing new. He was there last time when Shayne was injured. Remy says the part he would like to forget last night was Shayne puking out his car window. Remy questions why Shayne is acting like Remy did when he was at his worst? Shayne agrees to tell him provided he can have a coffee instead of the concoction. Remy agrees.

In the Spaulding Mansion, Alan walks in and sees Beth on the couch.

He wakes her up and says good morning. Beth tells Alan he didn't have to bring her breakfast. Alan says that Beth was studying all night. Beth says she has to go. Alan says he already called Cedars. Lizzie is still sleeping. Bill stayed by her side all night though. Alan says Beth is pushing herself too hard. Alan says he enjoyed studying with Beth last night. It felt like they were a couple when they went to Cedars together as well to see Lizzie. Beth agrees reluctantly but is uncomfortable by the reference. Beth would love to stay but she has to get to work. Alan says that there are no law classes until the new year. Lizzie is fine. Why doesn't she let him pamper her?

Buzz is at Company grouching about the books.

He looks over at Coop on his computer. Buzz walks into the kitchen and asks how the guy is keeping it so clean. Mr. Clean says that he's been doing this for 50 years. Buzz likes the job.


Mr. Clean asks about the family. Buzz says it's complicated. The newlyweds? They are doing fine. It's Coop. Coop seems like a good kid. Buzz says it's also his granddaughter Daisy. Mr. Clean says that Buzz has a great family. Mr. Clean hands over a Magic Eraser to help clean up other messes in kitchen. Buzz walks back into the restaurant and Coop changes the screen on his computer. Buzz questions. Coop says it's just a composition for school.

Buzz says there are no new classes until the New Year. Coop tells Buzz that he can't stop writing now. He had such a writers block before... Beth came into his life. Now he can't stop writing. It was never like this before. Whenever Beth is around Coop, Coop feels a buzz of creativity. The words are just flowing out of him now. Before he at a loss of words now. Buzz reluctantly gets what his son is saying.

Lizzie wakes up at Cedars to find Bill beside her bed.

She knew he wouldn't run away. Bill and Lizzie kiss. Bill is sorry he scared Lizzie so much.

Lizzie says she was scared about him. Where did he go? Running away made him look guilty which he is not. Bill knows that. He went back to the Cannery to see if there was anything. Lizzie questions excitedly if he found anything that will make this nightmare be over finally. Lizzie wants to know right away. Bill says he has a lead but he needs to look into it more. Lizzie says she wants to get out of Cedars. Lizzie is starving and want food.

Beth tells Alan at the Spaulding Mansion that she has to do research for her papers that they were going over the other night.

Alan says he has a legal team that can do the research for her. Beth says thanks but she needs to do the research herself. Alan can't give her law degree. She has to earn it herself. Alan says he's sorry if he insulted her. He takes her schooling seriously just like them that is why he wants to take her to China for Christmas. China? What about the children? They can come along. Alan will make it a family trip. Elizabeth is going to be released soon from the hospital. Alan says that they need to fix the deal in Macau before it hurts Spaulding - Lewis more. Beth questions what Alan is talking about. Alan says the credit crisis has put the deal in jeopardy. Elizabeth is not concerned about it. She compromising everything so she can help Bill. Alan says saving the business is paramount. If Elizabeth were to come then they could save the her as well from Bill. Beth says she can't go. She has to work on projects. Alan suggest thinking about it. Beth can't believe that Alan is using Lizzie to strong arm her into going. Alan moves closer saying that he knows Beth likes it when he takes charge. Beth recoils and pulls back. She agrees to think about it. She has to go and change. Alan says he will see her in a bit. Alan leaves. Beth shakes her head.


At Remy's, he's looking at a picture of Ava. Shayne says that Ava looks familiar. Remy says that is probably because Ava was married to cousin Bill at one point. Shayne asks when he's going to meet Ava. Remy says that Ava left town. Shayne says ouch so Remy got shut down. Remy says that Ava left because of her post partum after their son Max... Remy has a son. Shayne says the postpartum is not Ava's fault. Remy knows. When Max died.... Shayne is shocked. So, Remy couldn't e-mail him and tell him that he had a son. Remy says that Max died. Remy says weird. For a second he had it all in his grasp. He had the woman he loved and a baby but now both are gone. Shayne says sorry.

Remy says it's hard this time of year to see family with kids the same age as what Max would have been. It's hurts more at Christmas. Shayne says he sorry again. Shayne says he planned on staying till Christmas with his parents. Now he is starting to regret the idea.

Jeffrey says he can understand why Shayne is ticked. He goes over to be a hero and comes back in a wheelchair.

Reva is all worried. Jeffrey questions about cancelling the appointment with the Douala. Douala? Jeffrey says it's a person that can help Reva through her pregnancy. Josh tells Reva not to cancel. Reva needs to take care of her baby. Josh can take care of their son. Josh will find Shayne for them. Josh will call Reva when he tracks down Shayne. Jeffrey tells Josh thanks.


Alan and Alex walk into Towers.

Alex tells Alan to mind his manners when he sees Lizzie and Bill there. Alan walks over. Lizzie is supposed to be resting. Lizzie is chewing down on food. Lizzie says it's great that Bill is back.

Alan knows that Bill is back. He saw him at Cedars. Lizzie says that Bill is always there for her. Alan says that now she is feeling better this is the perfect time for all of them to take a trip to China. China? Bill questions what Alan is talking about. Alan tells Bill that the deal that he and Lizzie put together with Decker is going south. Someone has to take care of it so it doesn't take down Spaulding Lewis as well. Lizzie says she's not going. Alan looks at Bill and questions how he likes a woman that will sacrifice it all for him. Bill looks at Lizzie. Alan and Alex leave.


Beth sees Coop on his computer at Company.

Buzz tells Beth to listen to her first instinct and just leave Coop alone.


At Cedars, Mel is working when the phone rings.
Remy questions why his sister is refusing to help with the divorce. Mel says she's swamped with work. There are plenty of capable lawyers out there to help him. Mel says she has to get back to her work. Mel picks up a donut and starts to eat it. Remy walks in and says nice donut. It's obvious that Mel is not that busy.

Beth and Buzz are outside Company.

Beth says it's not the way it looks. Beth says that with Rick she was trying to recapture the past. Buzz questions if she is trying to capture the future with Coop then? Beth admits it started as a distraction away from Alan but it's more now. Buzz says that his son is brilliant. He's a good kid. Beth says that Coop is a grown man. He's had other relationships. Like with Beth's daughter Lizzie? That should have given Beth pause to start with. Instead there is no pause with her, it's full steam ahead into an unknown future. Beth says all relationships are like that. You have no clue what the future will hold. Buzz says that Beth is forgetting to look in her rear-view mirror. Alan is back there and he's closing fast. Beth may save Coop and just break his heart but if Alan finds out he will break the rest of Coop into little pieces.

Reva and Jeffrey are talking at Cross Creek. She knows she should be worried about their baby but she's also worried about Shayne. She's going to go check her messages again. Jeffrey says Reva needs to relax. Reva says there are no messages yet. Just then a knock at the door. It's Betty, the doula. Reva is very happy to meet her. Can they get her something? Some herbal tea. Jeffrey will get it while Reva and Betty chat.


Josh finds Dr. Wallace outside of Cedars.

Dr. Wallace has been looking for Shayne. He can't begin treatment unless he does the rest of the tests. Josh says he was hoping that Shayne came back there. Josh questions if the prior accident had something to do with the new injury. Prior accident? Shayne told him nothing about that when he was taking the medical history. Josh says that Shayne was in a car accident. He was first a quadriplegic then he was a paraplegic. It was unsure if Shayne would walk again. Josh questions if that could be compounding the injury that Shayne has now. Dr. Wallace says definitely. He needs to go back and look at his notes. Dr. Wallace leaves.

Josh turns around and sees Shayne. Shayne says hi Dad.
Josh questions why Shayne didn't tell the doctor about his prior injury. It didn't come up. An injury that could be the reason why Shayne is in his chair now didn't come up? Josh questions if Shayne was trying to protect him. Josh says he's the reason that caused the last accident. Shayne says it was an accident nothing more. Josh says the last accident may have affected his new accident. Josh wants to get Shayne back on his feet and life again. Shayne says this is the reason why he's not staying. He's not dealing with Josh's guilt anger and sympathy again. Does that mean that Shayne doesn't want Josh's love either?

Reva and Jeffrey are walking in the park.

Reva says she liked Betty. Betty the Doula gets it. Reva's glad that Jeffrey pushed her to see Betty. Reva says she needed that. Jeffrey says that Shayne knows where to find his mom. Reva says it's not so easy to let go of their kids when they grow up. Jeffrey knows that because of Ava. She's been gone for so long now. Reva says she wishes there was a Douala to help parents deal with their kids leaving the nest.

Mel confesses at Cedars to Remy that she doesn't want him to get a divorce from Christina.

He should stay married and see if it's right. Mel says it's different for their generation. They can have a baby first then get married .They don't have to do it in some order. Remy questions where his real sister is.

Mel says that Remy and Christina are good together. Remy says that they have never been together. Mel says give it a chance. They need to spend some time together without talking about the divorce. Remy says you can't just try out a marriage. It will be even more awkward to ask Christina out on a date after they are divorced right. Is it that Remy is not ready to date? He's still thinking about Ava. Remy says he has to go. Mel realizes that Remy still hasn't let Ava go.

Beth and Coop are talking at Company as Buzz is hovering.

Beth would love to read the book after it's finished. Coop says maybe but he's taking a Christmas Break. Beth says she is as well. Coop says he has a friend with a time-share condo in the mountains. They could go away together for the week. Beth says she has work and stuff with Alan... The friend says they can ski from the front door if they want. Beth is unsure of what to say.


Lizzie looks at Alan and Alex at Towers.


She says the great thing about being kidnapped is that it prioritizes things. Macau is not important to her right now. Alan says fine if Lizzie is not going to do it then Alan will just go broker the deal himself. Bill tells Lizzie she should go. Lizzie says no. Bill says that they can't let Alan take over the deal. Alan will cut out the green initiatives and all the good stuff they fought for in the deal. All Alan cares about is a profit. Lizzie has to go and save the deal for them. They have to have something to come back to after Bill is freed. Lizzie doesn't want to leave him. They are so close to Christmas. She wanted to do something nice with him. She needs him in her life. Bill says they will have a ton of Christmas and New Years together.


Beth and Coop continue to chat at Company.


Beth says it sounds nice but it's impossible. Coop questions why. She says her kids. She wants to spend Christmas with her kids. Coop says they can leave later on. Beth tells Coop that Alan asked her to go to China with him. What is she going to tell him? Coop says that she can tell Alan she wants to spend time with the kids or there is a law conference in Minneapolis that she has to attend. She can't do that. Coop tells Beth that she can do anything she wants whenever it doesn't matter what Alan says. Beth says she has to go and leaves.

Reva and Jeffrey are still walking outside when Reva realizes that she must have turned off her phone.

She turns it back on but there are no messages about her son. Josh is going to find Shayne. Reva says it's hard with her kids spread out. When one is hurt, she wants to focus on the one that needs her. She also doesn't want to neglect her other children. Jeffrey tells Reva that all of her children need her to be strong. Jeffrey doesn't want Reva to have to choose between her children. Jeffrey is there for her and their baby. One son needs her to be strong right now but he can't ask her for her help. The other son can but he doesn't want her help. Josh says the priority for him is her pregnancy and all the complications. He doesn't want Shayne to be one of the complications.

Shayne tries to leave outside of Cedars but Josh stands in his way.
Josh says fine if Shayne is angry at him. Shayne can punch Josh if that will help. Josh says they got past the anger last time. They will do it again. Josh says then they worked together and got Shayne back on his feet. Shayne tells Josh it's not about then or the injury or the wheelchair. Why is Shayne refusing Josh's help ? Shayne tells Josh he can't play hero again just like Shayne can't. Shayne tells his father to get out of the way so he can leave. Josh moves and Shayne leaves.

Lizzie heads into her bedroom at the Spaulding mansion. She finds a huge Christmas tree made from poinsettias.

She is in awe of the beauty. Bill is there with champagne for her. Bill says it's just them in the house right now. He wishes Lizzie a .

Reva and Jeffrey are back at Cross Creek when Josh comes in. Josh says he found Shayne.

Shayne is fine. Josh says the injuries he has now are compounded by the accident. Reva sees the guilt and tells Josh it is not his fault. Josh is not to blame. Josh says he is. Josh looks at Jeffrey and says he's sorry for interrupting. Jeffrey says Josh can stay. Josh says that Jeffrey should take care of their child. Josh will go take care of Shayne. Reva says that Shayne is her son more than ever.

Shayne is on the phone with a contact. He needs to be on that military flight after all. He needs to get the heck out of Springfield now.


Remy opens the door of his room and finds Ava standing there.


Buzz tries to knock some sense into Coop at Company.
Buzz says nice title " An Affair To Remember" Coop says it's just a working title. Buzz says this is how the story goes. They meet and spend a day, then a night then a week together. Is he close? Coop says that he tells his student to write what they know about. Buzz says that Coop is just like him and it scares the heck out of Buzz. Buzz tells Coop that he doesn't flaunt his relationship with Alan's woman in front of his face. He doesn't bulldoze the front door. He doesn't mess with Alan's manhood. Alan tears down other people for breakfast. He can kill someone and have breakfast the next day. There are no consequences for him. People like the Coopers go to jail. Buzz says before Coop decides to pleasure Alan's woman again can he give Buzz the heads up. That way Buzz can kill Alan before Alan kills Coop. Coop leaves.

Beth is at Towers and sees Alan.

Alan was hoping that she would find him there. He tried to reason with Elizabeth but she's not coming. So, it just looks like Alan, Beth and the children for a trip to China. Beth says that she was going to think about it. Alan says sorry for pushing Beth. Beth sees a ticket for first class to China in her name. Alan says he knows how much she loves the window seat. He got the seat in case she said yes. Beth says she can't actually. She's going to a Law Conference in Minneapolis. Alan questions. Beth says it's an honour for a student to be asked to go. She knows he wouldn't want her to give up her dreams just like Alan wouldn't want to give up his own. She knows Alan doesn't want to miss the trip to Macau.

At the Spaulding Mansion, Lizzie and Bill are kissing.

She doesn't want to leave. Bill doesn't want her to go either. She wants to save both of them. He loves how much she believes in him. Bill says that is the best gift. Lizzie says that is good because she didn't get him a gift yet. There was no time. Bill says next year they will have all the time in the world to enjoy their lives. He just needs to follow this lead and see where it takes him. Lizzie hopes he finds something that clears him of all of this. That would be the best gift for her. Not earrings? Lizzie says she wants him to prove to the world what she already knows. She knows he's innocent. Bill doesn't want to talk right now.
